Kadeem Cooper serves as Senior Counsel to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee, where he primarily manages the Committee’s work on civil rights and criminal justice. Kadeem previously served as Policy Counsel for the Lawyers’ Committee on Civil Rights Under Law and as Deputy Chief Oversight Counsel for the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Kadeem received his J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he was an Arthur Garfield Hays Fellow. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia. Kadeem is an alumnus of Prep for Prep, a leadership development program that provides low-income students of color in New York City with opportunities to attend leading independent schools and selective institutions of higher education.
