This workshop will help parents understand how to manage the new normal in their household. Online learning seems to be the answer. However, there is a lot of parents who don’t know about providing instruction in a school setting and how it is different from the home setting. This workshop will focus on ways to create a thriving work environment for kids at home.

The Struggle is Real!

Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 6pm

This workshop will focus on the social-emotional component of being a parent. Strategies will be taught how to identify stress, discuss fear, and have conversations with family members about what is happening around the world.

Learning Objectives:

The facts about trauma and how it affects your brain

How to address fear

How to use coping skills

Gain tools to manage or resources to address challenges families may be having during this pandemic

This workshop will focus on behavioral management strategies that can be used in the home. Learning Objectives:

Knowing why the behavior is happening

Identify replacement behaviors

Identify things you can do to prevent the behavior from happening


 

Are you Listening!

Wednesday, April 13, 2020 at 6pm

Are you tired of looking at your computer, or reading an email? What about going out to the movies or sending time with your family and close friends? This pandemic has changed how we engage with each other. It’s time to listen to your inner thoughts about what you need. Social distancing doesn’t have to keep us away from the things we love to do. We can do them at home. This workshop will focus on how to create family time as well as time to socialize with friends to maintain the new norm.

Finding ways to have family engagement without electronics

Finding ways to take care of yourself

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle

This workshop will focus on a continuum of care approach by providing families with resources in their area. What to expect:

This workshop will provide a summary of all courses completed. What to expect:

Success stories from the clinical team on how the families incorporated the tools provided in their home.

Announcement of upcoming summer workshops

Announcement of forthcoming social skills groups

Strategies on how to maintain the use of the tools provided over time.
