Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Achievement Prep will be closing following the guidance of the Mayor. All Achievement Prep campuses will be closed starting Monday, March 16th through Friday, May 29th. During the closure, Achievement Prep will stay in close communication with all Achievement Prep staff, families, and scholars about our plans to reopen schools for the 2020-2021SY.

WHAT THIS MEANS:

In our ongoing efforts to address community health risks and ensure the continuity of learning for our scholars, Achievement Prep will follow an updated schedule between March 16th and May 29th.

  • Monday, March 16 — Teachers and staff will report to school to plan for remote learning. No school for scholars.
  • Tuesday, March 17 to Monday, March 23 — Achievement Prep will take its Spring Break for scholars and teachers. There will no longer be a Spring Break period in April.
  • Tuesday, March 24 to Friday, May 29 — Scholars will participate in remote learning.
  • Friday, May 29 — End of Q4 and last day of school
    • 8th-grade virtual graduation ceremony
    • 3rd-grade virtual promotion ceremony
    • Last day of school

Remote Learning:

On March 13, 2020 your scholar received materials to support remote learning and on April 1st scholars will have access to round 2 of scholar materials.

These materials will also be available for pick up from your scholar’s campus on Monday, April 1st from 10am until 3pm. If you cannot come in person to pick up materials, please download the materials here or email your campus at the address below and we will send you materials electronically:

  • WALKERS: go to tot lot playground in front of the ES building at 908 Wahler Place SE.
  • DRIVE-UP: pull in to the school parking lot – staff will provide you with materials (no need to get out of the car).

Teacher Office Hours:

Our Platinum Teachers will hold office hours from 9am – 11am and 2pm – 4pm daily to support scholar learning beginning Monday, April 6th at 9am.  Please take advantage of these virtual office hours via ZOOM.  These are meant for you, as family members to ask questions, or scholars can log on directly and get support from their teachers and peers. 

FREE INTERNET:
The District has negotiated with Comcast for all households to receive free Internet Essentials for two months. Please click this link – https://www.internetessentials.com/covid19 to learn more and how to access this service in your home.

Meals during school closure:

For those families with children 18 years of age and younger, meal service will be available from 10am – 2pm daily at the following locations:

Scholar Medication:
All medicine held at the school will be available for pick up today, Friday, March 13th until 4:30pm, and at the school on Monday, March 16th from 8 am – 11am. If you cannot make it to the school during these hours, please email the following email:
